2K21 utilizes a fabric simulation for uniforms has not posted anything yet
NBA 2K21 involves a huge roster of players from present NBA athletes to legends from the past. By and large, the quality of the representation of each player is of top quality. The models themselves are intricately detailed with realistic skin shading, perspiration and facial expressions. Players look round the courtroom and respond to plays real-time. It's not perfect, as there is a sign of this'dead eyes' impact, but it is solid. Much like last-gen versions, 2K21 utilizes a fabric simulation for uniforms too - because you move around the courtroom, the fabric flows and responds realistically.
However, the next-gen difference is delivered in a lot of ways, particularly concerning substances, shading and lighting. Mostly, according to side by side effects, skin receives a significant boost to its specular layer allowing surrounding lights to more realistically play its surface. The players simply look more realistic this time around as a result of this shift, to the point where sweat accumulates on the characters the harder they operate. All this really brings the players .
The same is true of the courts, which receive new materials as well generating more realistic outcomes. The colour and material answer is more natural in the next-gen version of the game. But really, the key draw for me is that the crowd, which delivers a massive boost over the older consoles. The amount of detail present in every member of the crowd is remarkably impressive. They all proceed independently and are far more detailed, to the point where even human fingers are rendered. Yesif you look too closely, you can see dead eyes galore, clipping issues and more but, frankly, it works really nicely during gameplay and replays.
Then you will find the reflections around the courtroom itself and this is an area where tried and tested technology wins daily. Based on what I am seeing, I believe the game utilizes planar reflections rather than ray traced or SSR reflections. Planar reflections are still useful when applied to one plane such as the courtroom but they're much less elastic in a more intricate game universe. In cases like this, the reflection is altered by shaders used on the wood flooring to properly distort what you see.
The quality and resolution of this reflection seems improved on next-gen versus past. It's even more convincing and thoroughly realistic. The character of planar reflections also means that objects could be perfectly reproduced and reflections can seep with no issue. The backboard also receives mirror-like reflections which reveal both the hoop itself as well as the ball while the internet receives nice physics since you jam the chunk in.
